The impact of generative AI using Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT on education, or AI image and video generation on graphic design, are examples of disruption and transformation of industries and sectors. The technological developments in AI emphasise the need for dedicated efforts to push the boundaries of AI capabilities and address critical challenges in the field, especially within a developing context such as Southern Africa.
